On Sunday, April 2, from 9:00 AM to 12 noon, Temple B'nai Abraham will hold a Mitzvah Morning, sponsored by the temple’s Social Action & Membership Committees, Sisterhood, Men’s Club, The Early School, Parents’ Council, Jewish Learning Program, PTA and Teen Tikkun Olam. Join the members of the TBA congregational family as they participate together in a gratifying and rewarding morning of volunteering. This TBA event is free and open to the entire congregation and community. A continental breakfast will be served. Bring your entire family as there will be activities for children of all ages. Tentative schedule: 9:00 AM Kick-Off Breakfast with clergy and TBA Committee and Department Leaders. 9:30 AM-12 noon Mitzvah Morning Projects & Collections Include: • Pedals 4 Progress: Bicycle and Sewing Machine Collection • Project G.L.A.M Prom 2017: Donate your Prom & Bat Mitzvah Dresses on a hanger • Clean Your Closets: Collection for gently Used & New Sweatshirts (in conjunction with Bridges) • Toiletries Collection: Sort and assemble toiletries for distribution to those in need • Men's Club Blood Drive with the American Red Cross • Assemble Lasagna for Soup Kitchen • Dunk Your Kicks for the Max Cure Foundation: Donated new and gently-used sneakers • Yom HaShoah Candle Assembly • Comfort Project 360 Packing & Collection: We will be packing bags for patients in radiation oncology and collecting items for their Comfort Cart: small water bottles, Lays potato chip snack bags, Rold Gold tiny twist snack bags, Otis Spunkmeyer choc chip and oatmeal raisin cookies, Nature Valley rolled oats granola bars, Lorna Doone cookie packages, Quaker Oat individual oatmeal cups (App Cinnamon and maple brown sugar), Oreo cookie packages, Sara Lee pound cake individual bags, new/current magazines. • A representative from Big Brothers/Big Sisters will join us and share volunteer information. Preceding the Mitzvah Morning event at 8:30 AM on this date, Temple B’nai Abraham’s Men’s Club will hold its monthly Sunday morning Minyan led by Rabbi Kulwin. It’s a great way to make new friends and catch up with old friends. Rabbi Kulwin makes the service a little more traditional and keeps it interesting by explaining parts of it with which you may not be familiar. Everyone is welcome. We hope to make it part of the tapestry that makes our temple an engaging place for all to enjoy.
