New Jersey Dance Center

Conveniently located in a landmark building in the heart of Maplewood. NJDC is a school dedicated to giving students the highest quality dance training with a curriculum based program from ages 3 to 18 at all levels of experience in a friendly, nurturing environment. This supportive atmosphere helps to develop every student to their fullest potential, while building technical ability, confidence & fond memories.

Childrens Classes

The PRE SCHOOL DIVISION introduces the very young dancer to the joy of dance.
An introduction to ballet technique is the dance foundation for students while exploring movement, creativity, imagination and musicality in these classes for the young child.

In the CHILDRENS DIVISION, ballet technique becomes more challenging with focus on correct body alignment. Combinations are added to develop memory skills. Tap and Jazz is also added to introduce and broaden the students knowledge of different dance techniques.

INT. & ADV. DIVISION dancers are introduced to Pointe work with directors approval in addition to more complex technique classes.

Students in the childrens, int. & adv. levels are eligible to participate in our annual production of the Nutcracker Ballet with professional dancers in December and our showcase in June
Parents are invited to observe an open class in November.

Participation in our Nutcracker and Showcase productions gives the student a sense of pride in their accomplishments and builds their confidence and self esteem.
